About us
The Grape Group is a welcoming community of home winemakers who share a passion for crafting and enjoying wine. Founded in January 2026, we are a growing club bringing together individuals at all stages of their winemaking journey.
Whether you’re just starting out or refining your craft, our club offers a friendly space to learn, connect, and improve. We are proudly registered with the Amateur Winemakers of Ontario (AWO), giving our members access to provincial events, competitions, and a broader winemaking network.
Our club is led by Co-Presidents John Biondich, Club Organizer, and David Piazza of Piazza Grapes. John brings over 20 years of winemaking experience, including founding and competing with other clubs, while Piazza Grapes—an institution in Mississauga since 1960—serves as our clubhouse and a trusted source of quality grapes for our members.
We meet regularly at Piazza Grapes’ Brew House, where members take part in tastings, discussions, and hands-on learning—from fermentation to bottling and aging. It’s a collaborative environment where ideas are shared, challenges are solved, and everyone grows together.
Each year, we participate in AWO competitions, where members can showcase their wines, gain valuable feedback, and celebrate achievements within the wider winemaking community.
As we continue to grow, our goal is to build an inclusive, supportive club rooted in tradition and driven by passion. We always welcome new members who are curious, enthusiastic, and eager to be part of the journey.
